Events in Huntingdon

Once the new A14 bypass is complete, the existing A14 through Huntingdon will become a local road and handed over to Cambridgeshire County Council.

While the main work in Huntingdon is expected to start in 2019, preparation work, such as archaeology and utility diversions, will start ahead of that.

Work will include:

  • A new road in Mill Common, linking the A14 to Walden Road
  • Removal of the A14 viaduct and work around the train station
  • A new road in Views Common, linking Hinchingbrooke Park Road to the A14

Mobile visitor centre

We think it’s important that as many of you as possible have access to the information you need about the scheme. As the scheme covers a long and congested section of the A14 we have invested in a mobile visitor centre so that we can come to you.

  • the visitor centre is a 3.5 tonne vehicle (so village weight restrictions should not stop us getting there)
  • it has both ramp and step access
  • it would need a space of 8m x 4m to be set up
  • an electricity supply would be an advantage, but is not essential as we come fully self-contained with a generator
  • it’s FREE

We want to visit as many towns, villages, business premises, local events, libraries, community and support groups as possible over the next few years. If you’d like to talk to someone about booking the visitor centre please call 0800 270 0114 or email A14CambridgeHuntingdon@highwaysengland.co.uk

Details of our current events are in the programme below.
